It’s incredible to me how most people get super suspicious (and sometimes upset!) if you send them any link that isn’t to a centralized surveillance tower like instagram or cnn— it’s like the complete antithesis of the free and diverse DIY web of the 90s.

People’s relationship to computers has degraded so much they couldn’t fathom keeping an offline backup of their family photos, they’re all just bought in on archiving it indefinitely with a parasite, criminal 3rd party like facebook
