i just learned that #motorola phones, indeed, almost no Western brands of #android #phone, any more have the feature of power on/off by schedule

so my phone is now plugged into the bathroom shaver power socket, sitting in my bathroom cabinet draw cracked open, and the nice noisy exhaust fan will now officially stay on 24/7

unbelievable what incroachments continue to escalate in the mobile device space

android phones used to be better... the more this shit goes on the more i want to get a dumbphone with not even #3g and no #camera or #GPS

hmmm i wonder what the options are

i really don't use the phone any more

next month i'm getting a compact, zero network hand held GPS navigator, i think i'm gonna fast track to a super dumb phone rn

lol, not have it on most of the time...

sits on my desk, naked microphone, only calls i ever get are from couriers and wrong numbers, don't make any calls, don't use the phone except to access my xapo card

its battery runs down inordinately fast considering it's only 15 months old and hardly used, which makes me smell fishes, what is it chatting about? how can i trust it? can't even make it turn off by a schedule, so it's trying to coerce me into having it around all the time

that's gonna be a no from me dawg

ordered me a new thing, that has only 2g radio, no camera, a "senior" phone, and the "smart" phone is going to stay firmly OFF except to turn it on and use my bank and that is it, for courier calls and SMS messages from the courier, the dumb phone will be fine

next month i'll get a non-networked GPS handheld navigator and a small, bright af LED rechargable waterproof torch and hopefully some day soon i can put my bank app into a neat secure android emulator container and turn that "smartass" phone off for good
