I have little doubt that the now former USA is going to be a tough place to survive this year.

No matter your political leanings, though times are coming. You are going to get calluses on your hands.

You need to have multiple options, from career changes and budget reduction on the easy end to full all out nuclear war survival.

Have a place of refuge you can readable reach on foot. Put some money back in gold and silver as a grubstake for starting over in another location. Purchase a good knife, ax, firearm or two with ammunition to feed it. Train in their use.

Learn to forage off the land, snares and traps. Know how to build a fire from what is around you. Practice building a shelter from what nature provides. Make cordage from natural sources.

These skills may get you by for a year, maybe more. Good time to learn from the Hobos tricks of the road.
