In 2022, Nostr was competing as a Twitter alternative alongside Mastodon and Bluesky.

It has clearly won as the Bitcoiner alternative.

How it is doing in this competition overall though?

Is Raw User Count, the right way to compare these?

Bluesky and Mastodan have way more users

Yep... Basically Mastodon ~ 100-1000x of Nostr, and Bluesky is 10-20x on Mastodon.

I really think that Mastodon is the "gateway drug" to decentralized social media, and once people realize its limitations, Nostr will be the final destination.
