It's most likely this rather than anything to with Vite. We dropped support for Boomer devices aka 6 year old iPads. https://gitlab.com/soapbox-pub/soapbox/-/merge_requests/2673
It's a one-liner in the package.json you can revert if you have an aging userbase.
