Did you have any coding experience prior to reading it?

no

How so? Would you recommend for someone who is just starting to learn to code and wants to build nostr clients?

not for nostr clients for sure

typescript is not half bad for nostr clients, do if you can stomach the learning curve rust would be a great investment 🔥

The programming language that we all hated when we were at school (*pointers 🤯)

oh man! I love pointers! they were one of the things that excited me the most about it!

I still love C and mainly use CLN *because* it's written in C and I can play with it much more deeply than with lnd 😀

Respect man !

I used to write code in C/C++.

Now Python is my tool of the trade.

Never looked back, but learning deep and solid fundamentals is great.

I always hated C++

bitcoind being written in C++ feels like a greek tragedy 😂

... with that QT UI. Don't get me started.

right?! 🤦‍♂️

fucking satoshi 🤮

Yes! K & R book is still both enlightening and difficult after 40 years. It’s where the rubber meets the road.

👀

someone has to do it!

Just added to my collection, any tips?

That K&R lyfe

Wow!! That’s a blast from the past. I had that same book in the early 90’s. I think it’s in the attic somewhere 🤣

Best programming book ever. Going to order “the go programming language” soon mostly because of Kernighan

Same for me

So you mallloc-ed in the past 😏
