I really like the contest, my gf & i have fun hunting for great spots. Almost like a treasure hunt. Bounties are fun too but in a different way, and i think the subjectiveness is a feature not a bug.

If they are more work to manage maybe there's a way to tweak the contests rather than eliminate entirely

I just discussed this with my brother in law, a very successful businessman and great friend.

We both agree on bounties only. This gives more people an opportunity to earn some #sats for proof of work. The more work the more public exposure and the more you earn, almost like mining.

If you add the two it’s probably 2.5M+ #sats (this could be 50K sats for 50 peolpe)

One thing to consider is that as far as possible, the bounty theme needs to be executable in as many countries as possible.

For the monthly challenge I think about which would be the best place to put the sticker in terms of the largest number of people and also the photo is as static as possible. For the challenges with a particular objective, I simply put the sticker where you ask for it. For me the monthly challenge is very entertaining. but you know what is more convenient based on the results you obtained

I tend to favor any proposal that removes random or subjective factors.

I think the best part about the monthly contest was trying to find *the* spot. As a photographer, this was big driver for me. The downside of course being the subjectivity, waiting to get zapped, and the possibility of not even placing.

For those reasons, I’ve found myself more motivated to do the the bounties. If the bounties are easier for you to manage, I think this aligns well with us portal openers. Rock on! 🤘
