I am not saying it's weird. It's just what it is. DMs are not core functionality. It will never be. Just like many nostr apps don't have notifications. They are not core functionality.

DMs are only core to chat clients. Twitter clients don't need it at all. In fact, most people using Twitter clients don't even expect to have a chat feature.
