Tech Crunch full of tech layoff news. This will only intensify in the coming months. The primitive AI we have now will be responsible for a large number of layoffs and the later versions will cause some very painful realizations and conversations.

I hope I’m wrong and everyone starts hiring. Hate to see people lose their livelihood.

Bust of credit cycle is a factor, AI might have an impact but it's largely a scapegoat. The jobs AI cuts will be offset by additional jobs making the chips, or programming the AI, or building more Lambos for the Bezos of the world.

The car put the buggy makers out of work, but they eventually got jobs making cars or making things for the people who make cars.
