well, the fact that the captain of the ship was ukrainian is a bit of a red flag all by itself
also, maybe you have heard a little bit about modern chinese martial theory... really they haven't done anything but update Sun Tzu to modern tech concerns tho
many nonviolent actions, or merely coercive, or disinformation based attacks, aka "soft power" are martial in their effect
i don't think the objective is to take down such a publicly visible org as the USFG, more likely they are attacking, specifically, clusters of the oligarchy that has control of it
i seem to recall that baltimore is a very blue district, one of the big blue cities, so, that points at it being a potential attack on the faction behind the blue mask, one of them, to be very strictly clear, and a deep analysis of the interests tied up in the economy of teh city would be required to trace the real hands pulling the strings
I found it strange that one of the very first official statements made about the incident made it clear that the US Government was going to fund the rebuild (implying: instead of insurance companies as you’d expect).
I assumed it was either an oversimplification (ie Government pays upfront and seeks restitution after the fact) or an outright lie for political gain but that article suggests it’s for much darker reasons: to prevent private investigations. I’m not fully convinced but it’s an interesting angle.
An article I just read also voiced similar suspicions about the lack of an investigation:
