Born into a humble family in Lugoj, Joseph felt a deep calling to monastic life early on. He joined Partoș Monastery, becoming known for his profound piety & care for the poor. When a plague struck Timișoara, he fearlessly tended to the sick, offering comfort & administering sacraments. Later elected Metropolitan of Timișoara, he led with wisdom & compassion, always putting the needs of his flock first. Even in leadership, Joseph remained devoted to prayer & acts of charity, a shepherd in the truest sense.
