I'm not using apps that participate in such practices. I'm not saying he's not having a point, but all I can try to do is try to build better algos in the open that don't prefer some npubs over others.
Discussion
If you mean "there's no elite in my perpective", sure I can't change a subjective stance. If OTOH, you mean there's no generalized nostr elite, then if I didn't change your mind, I hope at least it made you reconsider.
Who do you define nostr elite, maybe besides accounts being suggested by default or preferred in algos by certain clients?
You defined it perfectly. Also people who were already famous/influencors on twitter and just use nostr to cross post or interact exclusively with other big influencors.
Yes, but as I said, all I can do is try to make algorithms that don't prefer certain people over others, give small accounts publicly if people interact with their content etc. I have no influence on how specific clients onboard their users or what content they show.
By brining nip90 to amethyst an open market for algos now exists in a large client. Ideally this is a better user experience than any predefined algo a single client would give their users otherwise as users have a choice what they want to pick for discovery. And devs have a choice to bring to this open market what they think is best or missing.
By having a better user experience, other clients will have to open to an open algo market or they will always have a worse experience in comparison. This is the anti elite move. I hope it is successful.
I've tried the algo DVMs on amethyst and it's looking super promising, thank you!
