Bible shows us that Jesus did it. "...Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

Tough for people to achieve sacrificial love, which would be the highest but it does happen. We see it with people giving up kidneys for family, people shielding people they care about from injury or death with their own bodies, people sacrificing themselves to help people escape things.
