The protocol isn’t the issue. That bit is solid… it’s the expectations which come to whatever client folks use to engage it. I cannot speak to all of those, most of those.

Plumbing is a good thing. But you don’t want folks to pontificate on the pipes, you want them building things which cause the pipes to be most useful. Or, expand the pipes beyond their designed use to something previously not seen.
