Strange nostr experience of the day:

I was browsing my Global feed, and stumbled on a comment from nostr:npub1pczukv7wx7l6mlpx54qxuzp0s32s7clejt04y4kl6z9vvgyz4x0qp4ehtq ...

Going to his profile, I found it labeled "blocked." I didn't recall ever seeing the dude, so I unblocked him and didn't see anything that I would have blocked...

Now it gets really curious:

While looking through his posts, the profile flipped back to "blocked" on its own.

WTF (What The Fudge)???

I unblocked him again and "Followed," but can anyone explain this bizzare behavior?

Check under "security filters" in Amethyst. There are 2 checkboxes there that govern how it will block users based on the reports of others.

Ah, yes!

This seems very plausible. I've unchecked the lower box, and may dispense with both until/unless spam becomes an avalanche...

This experience makes a good case in my mind for a future subscription anti spam service with reliable reporters...
