The Chicken Scribblin' Kronicles - A Look Under Eulora's Short and Knee-Length Future
The title is vaguely inspired by The Barely Legible and Slightly Bloody Diary of Foxy Foxster on Eulora which is now on its 9th day and most definitely worth a read. But to get to the very scribblings in question :
And now to the futures. First off we should probably discuss the future-in-the-past that's already happened earlier today :

The new looting rules are a thing of beauty. You absolutely must check this thing out. I got so enamoured with them I spent the past six hours playing straighti. Here's how that went :

That means a net loss of 174050 coppers aka satoshi, or a whopping 28.94% loss! And yet this in spite of a very large find the likes of which I've never seen before, and so it came to pass that during the space of this run I went from +100k to - 175k. Variance!
Add to all that skill costs in the form 956570 - 954125 - 951921 ; 960321 - 957447 - 953115 - 947835 - 943411 - 940354 - 937860 - 934908 - 930485 - 924594 - 919136 - 915294 - 912406 - 909339, for a total training expenditure of 55631 over 15 skills, taking me from 69 to 84, and my bank balance from "incredibly fucking rich" to "very terribly rich indeed".
Moving on to the future : on the short term (coupla weeks) we're going to release more items (including tools), more recipes, more skills, more meshes, fixes to the avatar animations which might even include visibly equippable tools, and generally all the art we can get our hands on. So if you wish to earn a copper or two - make us some art!
On the longer term (coupla months or so), we're going to be releasing the ghost system, which is a key element on the path to having actual death, and on which two specific dynamics are dependant : fighting, which is just what you'd expect, and archeology, which is going to be a very cool mechanic sort-of in between exploring and questing. But all this shit is hard, and we don't even rightly know it'll work ok yet, so don't get your hopes up. Get your hopes low, low, low, low ...
On the longest term, Tier II is a-coming, which means more maps, plus other fab things.
Always remember : the more things you do in game, the closer the future gets!
———Part of the motivation being also pure envy : just as I was feeling pretty good about myself after a decent craft run, breathing in the rarefied airs of "best crafter on server" as I imagined myself, in waltzes Foxy with nary twice my skill levels, so I went berserk.
I think I evened things out now, 134 Tinkering ftw! [↩]About 400+ in one single loot. Plus some rare recipes etc. Whole thing put me ahead at this point by like 100k [↩]
