"Money is not the thing. It's energy. Cause that's all we are. Money is this kind of cockblocker that we put in the way of everything, but energy is part of the Universe, money is not."

"Everyone is learning that nothing good comes without work."

Episode 170 of The Bitcoin Matrix podcast with Cedric Youngelman nostr:npub159xcmvys8az0s5z8whjwr4senal5px6sjgmskvhyq2u0fkwpk2ds0zg2g6

Definitely check out the whole episode, Michael has some brilliant ways of thinking about things (most of which seem to really align with my own) and he does a great job in delivering them. Cedric, as always, is a great host especially in that he really lets his guests just sort of run with things.

Money is the thing. People can buy energy with money. Smart people can provide value and make a lot of money with little energy. Energy is part of the Universe and money is the greatest invention of sapiens.

Money is an abstraction of time and energy is how I see it. Michael also says something to the extent that we have money since we cannot just directly hand each other energy in a jar or something (or send with an email for that matter). Of course (a good) money also allows for energy to be stored and transmitted over time, which is why I think the battery analogy is great as well.

It's not a bad analogy, but I don't think it's the essence. It creates the misunderstanding that all we need is PoW. Jason Lowrey the Pow Maxi is one of the most misunderstood.
