Proton Mail, would it avoid a situation such as this?

A client of ours sent us an etransfer the other day for $4k as a deposit for materials. The transfer never went to our inbox like normal and instead got intercepted and deposited by someone to another bank. I had to show my client our banking statement to prove to them we never accepted the payment, let alone even received an etransfer notification.

Our client called the fraud department and they verified that it did indeed get deposited to another bank by someone with a different name that they’re not allowed to mention lol.

This is a first for us, but looking to avoid any future issues, so wondering if Proton might help?
