it's not for nothing that i'm cynical about AI... i find very few cases where i don't already know more than the AI is going to tell me. i quit my kagi subscription because of this, i was getting no better results from brave search and the rare time i tried the kagi ai i think one out of 10 times it actually helped me, the rest, worthless.

Jury still out imo. It's replacing Google search at the very least. There was a "big" drop on Google stock other day reflecting this shift
google search has been shit since about 5 years now, they have polluted their databases with so much marketing bullshit that i couldn't find shit all.
duckduckgo and brave search have been better than google from about this time onwards, in terms of actually finding the information you are looking for
also, i'm hungry for information, and still with search engines even the better ones i'm starving.
Yep. Google needs to step up if it wants to keep up with AI. its search engine is old news
