My belief is aligned with Paul's (although I am not Orthodox--fiercely Reformed Protestant). Do we want to subordinate our souls to an artificial thinking machine that commands our wills and demands subservience? I don't think it's far fetched. I went through a phase (I'm still sort of in it) where 666 referred to Nero, but I am highly sympathetic to a more tribulation-oriented eschatology.

But eschatology aside, I believe this will become an existential struggle of some sort. At some point, I will throw this device away. I'm not there yet, but I am sure that when I arrive in that place, I will be glad for it.

I hear you wbt... we are not on the exact same path, but I believe our desired destination is the same. It feels like a profound culture shift about to take place... those that seek the easy route... the one that constantly drips dopamine... the one that below the veneer surface lies an inherently evil force... the one that severs the soul from the body... I am on the verge of making this conclusion.

bitcoin has helped me understand and process this monumental change taking place... there is another possible route... one with a community that is full of many hard working, low time preference, God worshipping people... one that openly embraces good in the world, love, and a historical peace with the earth... one that cherishes the body and soul together as one.

I agree that the path forward for humanity will be one of the greatest inflection points in world history... and the spiritual places I seek and enjoy are not found online... with that said, I choose human. peace to you.

This is beautiful. Relatable. Never knew the shift would be a long, slow one. A bit exhausting to be honest.
