TIL that the Lloyd’s of London had insurance policies against goods that had been confiscated by the French in the early 19th century (during Napoleon’s blockade)

Pretty wild that same company is now insuring bitcoin. I need to read a book about them

interesting. report back

Loyd’s has this bell in the lobby of their building in London that was in a shipwreck in like the 17th century. They found the shipwreck in the 1950’s or something and returned the bell to Loyd’s because it was rightfully there’s. They now ring the bell only on rare world changing events. 9/11 when the queen dies etc…

Wow. Definitely gonna look into them more now. Good case study for multi generational organization

Insurance is the lifeblood of capitalism. The more you learn about it the more anarco capitalist and libertarian it is. Plus the long term thinking and planning and actuarial data is the only traditional business that mirrors Bitcoin in this regard.

Excited to have written the policy that Lloyd's is fully backing. Honor.

Book called, predictably, Lloyd's of London, by Hodgson!

The oldest fossilized poo was found on a Lloyd's construction site.

It's known as the Lloyds Bank Turd.
