A few years back I saw a post about a collar to keep your rooster from crowing. Apparently, their crow is like bag pipes, and if they can't inflate, they can't crow. So you put a collar around his neck, not snug enough NOT to choke, but snug enough to prevent it from growing any larger.
I ended up with a rooster a few years back and made one from two large 2" strips of velcro, sewed back to back. Worked relatively well.
This video is the latest and most effective iteration of that, now made with softer and more flexible premade double-sided velcro.
