Depends on your definition of struggle and wither you look at it as a protocol or as a social network.
Most social networks grow much faster (I think). Don’t know about protocol growth.

if we are talking about "DAILY ACTIVE REAL USER" there is point - other social digital platforms more
dormant / occasional good user cannot ignored. also non-tech young old it will MUCH LONGER TIME for them know learn understand nostr's real value - there too much in favor tiktok dance n jokes clips
but RSS feeds from other places provides huge content feed now in nostr
bit stiff learning curve + less ad campaign and free goodies in other mediums is deterring a lot such users from jumping into nostr in spare time. primal , getcurrent others are doing GOOD JOB making is EASY for non-tech folks. slowly but surely it happens. dodnot over expect or over build for flash crowd like Tucker's interview or Trump spaceX talk.
I see so many people underestimate TikTok here and dismiss it into a dance video app for kids category. This is not the case. TikTok does fill the entertainer role, but it can also educate if you seek out information, and for younger people video is more interesting than text results. I do a fair bit of video search myself on YouTube for things like product reviews.
yes there so many alternate to YT now - simple nobody can match VOLUME of content and user in YT
its not YT has huge great feature. brand n volume cascade attarts MORE like u n me in YT
even if the want to use alternate they end using YT since audience or content is much more there
so others it takes much long time
My main issue with TikTok is that it's designed to be predatory and atrocious for privacy, while significantly reducing the common person's attention span. Well, that and the sheer amount of single-brain-cell dolts it has created.
Short-form video in and of itself is completely fine by me. I just despise TikTok's guts in particular.
