People often think of scientists as the most independent minded thinkers of all.

The reality is that they have an extremely narrow band of research that is acceptable to conduct, and an even narrower band of conclusions that are acceptable to come to, lest they lose their tenuous standing in the community, along with their ability to provide for themselves and their family.

Prior to fiat, scientists were largely independent. Post fiat, they are almost all beholden to the State’s whims one way or another. Don’t trust. Verify.
