"Protect your neck" ~ Wu Tang Clan

"Protect your time" ~ Shashue

I know it doesn't sound as gangsta. But I've become fierce about it as I've gotten older.

Throughout the course of your life, In most cases, women will have more of it (time) than men do. We are more likely to die sooner on average.

Some will say it's bc men do more dangerous sh!t. Maybe, sometimes.

But what would you attribute it to in this example.

Wife adds to husband's weekend to do list "fix pickets on the fence by the rear gate".

Husband prioritizes what he considers more important man stuff for a few weeks and puts off fixing the pickets on the fence by the rear gate. After all, fixing the pickets on the fence iby the rear gate is a cosmetic chore and he's has "real and dangerous" man chores that need getting done first.

Husband comes home late from work one night many months later, opens front door and surprised to find an 800lb bear chilling in his kitchen.

He tussles with bear and is subsequently killed.

Did husband die at a younger age bc he does more dangerous isht?! Maybe yes or maybe no.

The wife would have maybe never had the bear problem bc maybe she would have fixed the pickets on the fence by the rear gate when it just that. A few pickets on the fence that needed hammering.

My sisters " the man died early bc he was stupid"

"Time", will be the theme for a few a few of my #Nostr notes this day.

Good morning #Nostr #Plebs #CoffeeChain #GrowNostr β˜•πŸŒžπŸ•β€πŸ¦ΊπŸŒ…πŸ’œπŸ«‚

can we talk more seriously about how a man who is a husband tends to, on average, live longer

& a woman who is a wife tends to, on average, live less

like can we talk about how marriage on average is a trade of time where a woman cuts her own life short to give some of her life to her husband & what would make that trade actually worth

it?

Gif, to your point, I've come across a few writings recently that speak to this. Something to consider. I will come back to this note and share them if/when time permits. I always find these types of discussions entertaining, if not informative.
