Does mk3 work with cold power with the 9V battery? Or you plug in miscro usb with a wall adapter ?

Bro you cable??? I also have mk3’s and have only ever used microsd cards. It has never been directly connected to a computer. No i cannot defend whether that is necessary or beneficial in any way
