Recently learned about the concept of the Commonplace book. A practice of collecting and cataloging sayings, ideas, and concepts in a book, which dates back to at least the Greeks. It was widely practiced during the renaissance.
I found this copy of John Locke’s book on how to create a Commonplace book from the 1600s.
