Maybe I’m just dense, but what does that indicate?

They’re hoping a lot of people will quit, so they don’t have to fire them.

Think it’s possible they just haven’t found remote work to be effective?

Don’t get me wrong it’s a mixed bag so they’re cleaning out some non-contributors for sure, but they are clearly thinning the herd

One data point, but an interesting one. Being a bear hasn’t been a smart idea for a long time though.

Also… they gave folks a two week heads up- if it was only about effectiveness it would have been staged over a series of months.

Don’t get me wrong, remote work at a construction company doesn’t make sense at face value for the most part, not my style. But it’s a massive organization with a lot of revenue verticals including insurance, equipment procurement, engineering… it applies to all of them.
