The Bitcoin Standard is so often recommended as something you should use to explain Bitcoin to a loved one or friend that’s interested. I love Bitcoin but it’s probably the worst way I can imagine to Orange Pill someone. Way too many opinions that have nothing to do with Bitcoin.

The Price of Tomorrow by nostr:npub1s05p3ha7en49dv8429tkk07nnfa9pcwczkf5x5qrdraqshxdje9sq6eyhe is great. Just a clear description of the situation.

Bitcoin is Venice is also great, explains multiple times why Bitcoin is different from other coins.

I will say stock-to-flow was a great way to explain Bitcoin’s uniqueness but the rest of the book will turn a lot of people off.

The reason it’s recommended is the language is most suited for laymen.

I love Bitcoin is Venice, the best book on Bitcoin if you ask me, but it’s way too advanced for most people and far more cerebral than Saif’s book.

Jeff’s book is in my pile so I can’t comment on it specifically but his notion of technology leading to deflation breaks even my mind.

The biggest challenge I see in orangepilling is people don’t understand the problem that Bitcoin solves, that’s why I say it has a Sales problem rather than a Marketing problem - you don’t sell unless your solving a problem which the customer has internalised.

Fiat fuckery and how people are constantly being robbed and screwed over is difficult to articulate but unless ppl understand that, even if it’s just the notion of counterparty risk, they won’t adopt it.

Yeah, nostr:npub1s05p3ha7en49dv8429tkk07nnfa9pcwczkf5x5qrdraqshxdje9sq6eyhe nails that one. Bitcoin isn’t even really mentioned but it explains why Fiat just doesn’t work.
