On track to be using #Fedora Silverblue for many, many years.
Most stable and powerful #Linux desktop I've ever experienced.

On track to be using #Fedora Silverblue for many, many years.
Most stable and powerful #Linux desktop I've ever experienced.

Ever tried NixOS? The biggest disadvantage to using NixOS is that it is not trying out new things itself, whereas Fedora is forward driving the Linux ecosystem. They were the first to use systemd, Pipewire and Wayland by default for example ✌️😎
I don't spend enough time on the computer these days to justify the multi-year deep dive that #NixOS entails for new users.
Silverblue strikes a nice balance for those who don't want their time monopolized by Linux. I mostly only use a browser (LibreWolf) these days.
Could you please explain why it is the most powerful?
- All the app/device support of Fedora.
- Immutable boot images to ensure your desktop never gets bricked by an upgrade.
- Install other distro apps into containers deeply integrated against the desktop.
Simply put, I can run whatever app I want and the desktop stays working over the course of years without getting bricked no matter how much tinkering I do.
Very similar to the architecture of modern mobile devices OS's: root OS is immutable, apps are containerized, upgrades are transactional.
