I’ve been suffering from a painful big toe joint since I got a joint implant 3 years ago. I get steroid injections 3 times a year. My surgeon decided to only see surgery patients, so he hands me off to Nishit, a 35 year old surgeon who says “I want you to try these. Other patients swear by them.” NOW they tell me (15 visits later). Fuck. They work brilliantly. If your toe needs to flex less too, try it. Worth every penny.

basically, it’s a super thin carbon fiber plate (1.5mm thick) that goes under your insole. It prevents your big toe from flexing at all. it sounds like it would be awkward, but you barely feel it at all. I’m sure they make them for other toes too, but this is the popular one. FYI : carbon fiber is extremely strong, extremely thin material used in drones and other modern aircraft.
