it will get worse before it gets better. but have faith in humanity.
the mood of change is already in the air. the young guard is arriving. the noise you hear now, is disgruntled old men being forced to leave the bastion. they will be gone soon.
and ai - how will it work out what is fake news? and if it does, how will it make amends when there is nobody to teach it?
somehow i feel we will come out ok. just be ready for the bumps.

I admire your optimism...yet I've seen firsthand the evil that lies within the souls of all too many men...
AI could be a tool for good--yet I GUARANTEE you that it will end up being used by many for evil...you mention fake news--were that the only evil purpose for which it's used for I'd be overjoyed.
Totalitarianism is just a short step for many politicians, and make no mistake--all of them (by definition) seek power over others. AI has the power to give them that full authority.
Future souls will look back at us in just a very few years and say "How could those people have let this happen? Didn't they see the warning signs?"
And what will we say? Because the signs are there...and most are choosing to ignore them.
