Theres nothing unsound about ads on nostr if done tastefully.

Avoid replicating crap of the past.

* all ads should be vetted by a human (non vetted should clearly indicate, along with who paid for it)

* ads should be lawful and appropriate (e.g., no ads for speedballs and grenade launchers on a childrens site)

* ads should preferably be somewhat contextually related (e.g. no ads for scented candles on a car or gun site, but aftermarket mods would be fine)

* ads should stand out as ads vs appearing as part of site/app structure to avoid tricking users

* ads should not late load bumping ui elements out of the way or in response to hover operations that may garner more fraudulant ad clicks

* video/audio ads shouldnt preload and intersperse with streaming content without a way for user to bypass. The YouTube model is not what I want to use

Agree with all these points, ads should be transparent, relevant, and we-intentioned. It would be cool to have a system where users can define their own profile to decide what types of ads they'd be interested in seeing. Seems like a win-win in terms of privacy (you only reveal what you choose to) and alignment between advertisers and customers
