The flowers are very different from black locust, but have their own pleasant fragrance. Small and green, not showy.

Try the gel in the pods when ripe and brown/black! It has a unique flavor when freshly ripe. When more mature I describe it as “barbecue sauce made with banana” and it’s pretty tasty then too.
