Hello friends,

please I need your opinion.

As a volunteer (end of life doula) at local Hospice, we needs special adjustable beds for bigger patients which will help not only to them, but also to nurses .

Hospice is now in prepearation of organizing event, where people will be invited and they can contribute.

I’m thinking now, Nostr is in its core a great platform for charity as the payment system is built-in.

My concern is, how to make myself or any entity on Nostr legit, so people can trust it’s not a fraud and their sats are going to the good thing and not to someone’s pocket?

I can show my identity, my face, share photos from Hospice, create dedicated account, etc, but can be done more?

What do you think?

As long as the hospice's official site or official posters show the ligntning address/NIP-05 identifier, any #nostr user will be able to establish that the fund is going to the hospice.

You can use NIP-05 to verify your identity. There are many domains who offer this service, some free l, some for a fee, but if you’re looking for a better verification it would be better to verify on a domain you or your organization owns.

It’s not the perfect solution, but we are early in protocol development. NIP-42 may add more of a verification layer as well.
