History: Three New Exchanges Open Supporting More Fiat Currencies, 27 March 2011

On March 27, 2011, Britcoin launched the first exchange for trading bitcoin with British Pound Sterling (GBP). A few days later, on March 31, Bitcoin Brazil started offering in-person trading in Brazilian Reals (BRL) and U.S. Dollars. On April 5, BitMarket.eu began supporting trades in Euros (EUR) and other currencies. These platforms greatly expanded bitcoin access and trading, opening the market to millions of new users.
