Publicly traded companies also have reporting requirements and cannot participate in insider trading or pump and dumps. Plus some other restrictions on literal fraud that are currently in the shitcoin playbook.
many of these companies were “fund raising” before they were publicly available.
and insider trading is openly done by politicians.
There are some protections in place - but it feels like “shitcoining by the book” which almost feels worse imo.
