Surprised. Do you really need help of AI to code in shell? With all your it history background?
My life is ruined. :)

I don't need it at all. It's just way faster. Do you remember how to format dates exactly? What is the name of EXIF parameters I need to set in image (vs in video, because they are different)?
I could have done it with manpages, but it would take me at least 3x as long.
Date format I remeber by heart as I'm using it several times monthly.
Yes, for exif params, I need to read manpages.
I am also using venice.ai more and more.
But still have some block when ChatGPT tried to help me with tuning of tomcat server by reasonably looking parameters that did not work. Reading documentation has shown that such parameters do not exist at all.
Or anything complicated in "ansible" (I do not know already) is almost impossible to get from AI. In such complicated cases the sourceforge.net is still more helpful.
Therefore if I can get something from manpage in 2 minutes longer than with the help of ai, I still prefer manpage.
But yes, there are cases when venice.ai saved me more time.
But I still evaluate situations - is the saving of 5 minutes of my time worth to become more lazy and dumb? I am still somehow proud of myself to use brain on daily basis.
I usually have to go through it and fix it anyway. It just saves a lot of manpage lookups and typing.
