Seems like a bit of an over reaction to take the whole thing down over a truck fire.
if its assessed as not structurally sound and cant be repaired demolishing is the safest and quickest course of action
It was a pretty gnarly fire. Accident involved a Passanger car, semitruck and oil truck. Plus I believe the overpass has gas pipes and telecom that services half the town of Norwalk and neighboring towns.
Yea that's def a possibility. There was that cash tossed around some years back after that bridge collapse in OK that was supposed to be used to repair all the bridges that needed it. Not hard to imagine some grift left some un-repaired.
