#Windows 7 was the last coherent version that made sense.
Everything since is a hodge podge of old and new shit. You still need Control Panel for some things and there are redundant settings with undefined behavior.

New windows is just redesigned Windows 7 but with new bloats & very small API changes that should be actually able to made in Windows 7 but they simply don't want to.
