I couldn't understand why they insisted on preloading follows, but their feeds are empty, otherwise. Except for trending.
You can't just go find new people.
It has tribe or extended tribe or whatever..but yes that relies on you following people. But yes, they do insist you follow the absolute worst of Nostr lol
It is for newer users
That means that new users don't know how Nostr works. We used to immediately learn about relays, but primal frontloads their own relay and their cache relay and a bunch of follows.
And then they mess everything up and everyone bails because they think Nostr is down.
I forget about the learning curve to join here. Its curious to me, now that you mention it, not as many new users are asking about relays.
Maybe primal is creating a closed loop entrance into nostr which ends in a dead rather than an opening into nostr.
