If you're able to block keywords on whatever client you're using (I'm on Amethyst) you can block randomuser.me which is, apparently, where the image files for the profile pics are stored. It's working for me, except when I'm on a slow connection.
I use primal but I might use Amethyst

I've just realised that because I actually wrote the name, because of the block filter, my own post is blocked to me now and I can't see it 😂
I was told to mute them that’s what someone told me to do is mute them
