Austin, Texas is sufficiently inland that whatever storms come through the Gulf only ever turn out to be intermittent light rain for a day or two before returning to the regularly scheduled sunshine

That’s incorrect lol. When Houston got hit by hurricane 4-5 years ago it fucked our fence up to the tune of 9k in Austin πŸ«‚πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ«Ά

there are exceptions of course, but they prove the rule

the number of storms that have remained strong that far inland have been rare

I guess so. The one truth that remains is Austin has some of the worst god damn weather I have had to live in lol πŸ˜‚πŸ«‚πŸ«Ά

πŸ˜…

i'm definitely in the minority re: the heat. whenever i tell people how much i love it they tell me to stfu

Haha I get it. I’m from California and leaving perfect weather to move to those extremes was stupid on our part πŸ˜‚

it's all about tradeoffs i guess. no single place has it all.

I can agree with that 🀝
