What do you mean correctly? Isn't this a valid markdown?

I think it's more about it being a sneaky link disguised as a hashtag. A small icon indicating it was a link would be handy for differentiation.

True, but that is always the case with markdown (nostr blog posts have them all the time). I will see what I can do to differentiate.

I think it needs an indication (icons work) to be clear it is hyperlink and not a hashtag or a username.

What would stop someone just using the icon tho or the @ in the case of a username? i assume there must be a solution to that(?)
