You are right speaking English doesn't exclude anyone from hearing multiple perspectives. Not speaking other languages does.

Translators are fun and all, but in the end they are trusted third parties which easily lose and distort facts in translation.

Hearing someone speak in their original languages is as close as you will get to a primary source about them.
