Wow!! I can’t really wrap my head around that. May I ask what kind of pharma stuff is advertised?

A lot of weightloss drugs, diabetes meds, the occasional skin meds for eczema or psoraisis, cialis and viagra seem to have slowed down. Basically if you can think of it, there's an ad for it. ☹️

🫨 woah!!!

Right. It's awful.

I can’t even imagine an ad for Viagra on tv in Australia. The oldies would have heart failure! The TV commercial complaints office switchboard would be lit! 🤭

I had a collection of audio recordings on an old phone of just the side effects listed on prescription commercials - it’s hilarious how they’re read at 2x speed as the background music is at normal speed!

If they were read at normal speed, it would be 30+ seconds of side effects.

Nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, suicidal thoughts, excessive weight loss/gain, etc., etc... 😑

So uplifting stuff then! 😦

Nothin’ beats a nice side effects list. Now…….

Imagine those side effects as the prologue in a film noir detective movie.

Instead of the usual uplifting background music, a jazzy saxophone and trumpet duo plays as the side effects are read slowly and deliberately, rain falling steadily on the city as the main character stands outside the nightclub, waiting ….

Amazing 😂.

Does nostr/bitcoin fix this, too? 🤞🤞

*saxophone plays quietly in the background*

Y’know, yarnlady, I think it just might. But I didn’t think to pack a meme when I got in that taxi.

Maybe the answer’s at the bottom of this glass here, maybe it’s out there somewhere.

But we ain’t gonna know for sure til a few years from now happens.

*saxophone music gets louder as camera pans to the television screen and a montage of overlapping news and pharmaceutical adverts play*

A thing of beauty right there.

Me: *tips sunhat*

Now I feel like a martini 🍸

I’m glad I’ve inspired a bit of levity into this evening on nostr.

If I was a writer, I would suggest a concept for a Nostr activity: a sort of cooperative writing project wherein one has 24 hours to write a few sentences then pass it along to the next, but just agree on a setting/theme and write a story.

I’m in!!
