its been windy here.
after windy days i walk around harvesting the light green moss in the center. Its Usnea. Its uses are myriad.

love it, but like what are a use or two? beginning forager wants to learn and I see this moss often on my trips back to the PNW
Attributes:
anti bacterial, antibiotic, anti inflammatory, anti parasitic.
Two common uses:
immune booster
surface cleaner
i put a little in my french press coffee periodically.
i also put some in isopropyl alcohol along with cedar sprigs and dried orange peels to create a cleaner.

Additionally, Usnea is an environmental indicator. It will not grow in areas with polluted air.
