Very bold of you to determine I’m not conscious about what WE (not they) are up against. I’m always open to learning more, but I’m pretty sure I understand the powers that be - and not just on a US politics level. A few levels up too.

I can conclude that We don’t fear the same things. I am an anticommunist because I fear that more than any other ideology.
In a scenario when there are two alternatives, one communistic and the other one not communistic, I am proud to view it in a clear black and white view.
It is not, in the very clear and present danger that the world is in, admirable to not choose a side and say: ”There are nuances, watch how clever I am”.
