Nostr has no business model. We are not the product, i'd happily zap for customizable functions i would value.

If a client releases a native wallet and start to take their cut on zaps, that client will already be doomed.

It’s possible people will support such client if they can customize the contribution or set it to 0.

Agreed, and they must. We all know how we feel about taxation.

Nostr is doomed if there isn’t a way to make it self-sustaining eventually. And people donating all their free time doesn’t count as self-sustaining.

We need a resilient system that doesn’t depend on anyone’s goodwill, which means it has to find a business model sooner or later.

Why? Did TCP need a business model? Businesses will be built on nostr. Nostr the protocol should always be open and should not need a business model IMO
