Maybe if I had been alive during WWII. Then again, I believe strongly in Ahimsa/non-violence, so I’d be joining as a medic or something if I did.
Forever respect those who do, but now their lives, bodies, and families are being used to enforce global dollar hegemony, at the cost of the lives of kids I’ve never met in faraway countries.
Paid for by our dollars.
This realization was the first time I got the “taxation is theft” argument.
While I may be gladly funding my neighborhood park, I’m also non-consensually funding state-sponsored murder, all so that we can enjoy cheaper gas, debt, and iPhones. It’s not worth it.

I had a phase where I wanted to live on a military base because it seemed like there was a lot of community within them. It’s when I live in Maryland and tons of people around me grew up on bases.
Paid to be good at pushups sounds like a mad buzz.
The .gov email balances things out.
From somebody that did enlist, personally I wouldn’t recommend it. Contrary to what I thought at the time, every conflict I served in made that region worse, not better.
Almost joined the marines, back in the 90s.
